His father was from an United Nations peacekeeping observer and he go with him, so maybe that is the reason for he is an activist. He writes songs of differents kinds, Rock, soft rock and rock pop. 
He has garnered a lot or awards for his really good job.

She was born in Victoria (British columbia) in 1978, her parents were born in Portugal but they had to emigrate to Canada.
She started singing Portuguese songs.She get famous with her song ”Whoa, Nelly!”.

He was born in Westmount (Quebec) in 1934. He is a Canadian singer, songwriter, poet and novelist. Cohen has been inducted into both the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame as well as the American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In 2011, Cohen received a Prince of Asturias Award for literature. "Hallelujah" is one of the famous, and you maybe have heard it without know it (Shrek), because many singers have performed this song with differents styles.

Nickelback is a band which plays rock country, pop rock and post-grunge. 
This band was formed in 1995. Nickelback is formed by Chad Kroeger (guitar and vocals), Mike Kroeger (bass), Ryan Peake(guitar and vocals) and Daniel Adair (drums). 
In 2001 Nickelback archieved success with the album "Silver Side Up".

Sum 41 is a band which plays pop punk music.
The band was formed in 1996 and was formed by Deryck Whibley (Vocalist, rhythm guitar) Tom Thacker (guitar, choirs), Jason McCaslin (bass, choirs) Steve Jocz(drums). 
In 2001 Sum 41 released his album All killer no filler.
